Clothes Make the Man
Posted: Aug 27 2011
Mark Twain wrote “Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society.” While clothes may make the man (especially BFM clothes!), they do not make a well-rounded, or Renaissance man: a man that is knowledgeable in many areas and can easily slip from one situation to the next. One of the main qualities that a well-rounded man requires is discipline, as it is the one quality that is needed to cultivate and accumulate the necessary knowledge to live a more satisfying existence. It takes discipline to pay attention to current events, as well as maintain a basic knowledge of the arts and sciences.
Over time, it is our goal at Built for Man to aid in building more-well rounded men. We will be offering our take on style, community, and culture to make it easier to be a more confident man. A man who possesses the knowledge to walk into a cocktail party and be able to understand many facets of an issue and understand the basics of the arts, style, and our community.
What are some of the items we’ll be addressing? Artists and their backgrounds and their art’s place in history; basic etiquette; developing style and wardrobe building; personal grooming; community events; and guest columnists. Getting back to Twain: we at BFM would like you to look great while having a positive influence on society.
